LAURA MARKS is a PEN Award winning playwright, television writer and comic book writer. Her plays BETHANY and MINE both had their Chicago premieres at The Gift, directed by Marti Lyons. BETHANY originally premiered off-Broadway with the Women’s Project, starring America Ferrara, where it received Lucille Lortel nominations for Best Play and Best Actress. Other honors include the Leah Ryan Prize, a Lilly Award and an award from the Fellowship of Southern Writers. She’s an alumna of Juilliard, New Dramatists and the Public Theater’s Emerging Writers Group. For television, she’s written episodes of LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (alongside fellow Gift Ensemble Member Andrew Hinderaker), SERVANT, THE GOOD FIGHT, THE EXPANSE, RAY DONOVAN, THE EXORCIST and BRAINDEAD. Her debut graphic novel, DAPHNE BYRNE, was published by DC Comics. She’s a native of Kentucky, now living in Brooklyn.
