Ensemble Member Keith Neagle
Ensemble Member

KEITH NEAGLE is a proud, grateful Ensemble Member of The Gift.

He moved to Chicago in the autumn of 2004 knowing he that had to be a part of Chicago’s theatre community. The first Gift production he attended was The Glass Menagerie, and the intimacy, vulnerability, and honesty of the artists and the space made it clear he had to be a part of it someday.

The second Gift production he attended was The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, and his socks were subsequently blown off at the power of these people and artists.

Cutting his teeth in the intense, roll-up-your-sleeves-and-do-the-work community that is Chicago theatre, Keith was a company member of the itinerant Pavement Group for many years, and before that, he completed a brief stint with Rogue Theater Company.

A little later on down the line he attended The School at Steppenwolf, where he was taught by The Gift Ensemble Members Sheldon Patinkin and Michael Patrick Thornton.

During that period of growth, it was cemented in his mind that he needed to get his foot in The Gift’s storefront door somehow.

He did a few productions with them, and even proposed to his girlfriend in the theatre (after the audience left).

Keith happily became an Ensemble Member in 2015.

Some people have second homes. This is his.
